I had the pleasure of dining at La Villeta twice during my stay in Burnaby.

It's located on Route 40, close to Ile aux Tourterelles, about an hour from downtown Burnaby. It offers amazing views of the surrounding countryside and is quite literally a 'glamping' experience without all the fuss!

The menu for both lunch and dinner offers a wide array of flavors that might seem foreign at first, but are definitely worth trying! Highlights included their escargot en croute appetizer, which came with buttery puff pastry topped with Parmesan cheese that was baked to perfection. We also tried their beef tartar which was one of the best I have ever tasted - not too spicy so you can actually enjoy the flavor of the beef, but definitely packed with enough seasoning.

The menu is pretty diverse and offers seafood pastas, steak frites, lamb chops and duck confit! Note that I didn't mention anything about chicken or fish because all mains were cooked to perfection (no under-cooked meat here) which speaks volumes about the chef's attention to detail.

For dessert we had their peach crumble tart topped with vanilla ice cream - very fresh and not too sweet! They also have an extensive wine list available! It's a great place for brunch or dinner on the weekend. Of course, it's more expensive than your average meal so plan accordingly if you are looking for fine dining at a luxury camping retreat!
